#gamesUR Summit 2023 Presenter Travel Grants
Inspired by The Queerness and Games Conference (QGCon)’s 2020 Presenter Travel Grants.
In order to help with the costs of traveling to Seattle, Washington for the GamesUR# Summit 2023, we have a funding system to create grants for speakers and other presenters. Ideally we would like to fully fund travel for all of our presenters, but we have a limited budget. Our future aim is to fully fund the amounts requested by all presenters that identify as a BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, or a Person of Color) and/or Person with a Disability. For this year, we plan to prioritize presenters coming from farther distances and not receiving sufficient travel funding from their universities, employers, or other organizations.
We will consider each application on a case-by-case basis and will do our best to divide funding according to need, but keep in mind that the amount of the grant is unlikely to cover all your travel expenses. The #gamesUR Summit 2023 will also be available online as part of our hybrid setup this year. More details about how to attend coming soon!

Presenter Travel Grant
We recognize and respect that some presenters may need information about travel grant funding before they are able to make their travel arrangements. We will do our best to notify you about travel grants as soon as possible, hopefully by mid-March.
Due to the nature of funding provided for the #gamesUR Summit 2023 Travel Grants, we will not have all the travel grant funds available to us until the event has ended and may be disbursing travel grant funds after the conference has ended. We will strive to send the funds as soon as we can. If receiving travel grant funds before the #gamesUR Summit 2023 would be crucial to your ability to attend, please let us know in your application.
#gamesUR Summit presenters and attendees can also connect with each other to coordinate travel on the GRUX Discord server.
